How do I change my address for my firearm(s)? | Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)?

You can update your address with RCMP 3 different ways.

1. Using your secure GCKey account

Canadians citizens that possess firearms have the option to create a GCKey account to securely access multiple online services offered by the Government of Canada and manage their profile.

I have a GCKey account!

Make your change of address via your GCKey secure account and make sure the update is effective immediately.

I don’t have a GCKey account!

You can create an account on the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) website. Like most Government of Canada online accounts, you must first register using a Sign-in Partner.

2. By phone

You can communicate your change of address to the Canadian Firearms Program (CFP) of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police by phone from Monday to Friday, between 9AM and 5PM.

Phone number : 1-800-731-4000

3. By mail (in writing)

Are you a bit more traditional? Excellent, the RCMP too! You can notify them of your change of address in writing at the following address:

Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Canadian Firearms Program PO Box 1200Miramichi, New Brunswick  E1N 5Z3

Finally!

As a firearms licence holder, it is your responsibility to move your arms safely. If you own a firm arm, you most likely must also update your address on your hunting licence.
